FAQ
1. Which type and size of yacht should I choose?
The only requirement is to have enough beds for the number of people in your group. Everything else depends on your preferences. Our yacht options include:
Gulets: Wooden sailing boats that use engine power and sails when the wind is strong enough. Gulets are only available for rent with a crew that takes care of driving, cooking, cleaning, groceries, and other services. Perfect for leisurely and relaxing holidays with family and friends.
Motor yachts: Plastic or steel vessels powered by an engine. The size of the crew depends on the yacht’s size, with a minimum of a skipper and the possibility of a deckhand, chef, and hostess. Ideal for sailing enthusiasts.
Super yachts: Large and luxurious motor and sailing vessels designed to offer the utmost comfort and professional service. These yachts come with a large crew (4+) who will take care of all your needs, including maintenance, organization, and service.
2. How can I book a yacht?
To book a yacht, simply send us an inquiry via email, and our Customer Service Center will provide you with several suitable offers. To help us assist you better, please include the following information: preferred yacht type (gulet, motor, or superyacht), number of people in your group, preferred or approximate arrival dates, and your budget.
Once you’ve selected some offers, we can make a reservation for a few days without any obligation, allowing you to make your final decision.
Booking is considered confirmed once you sign the contract and pay the agreed deposit. The deposit is typically 20% or 50% of the total price. The final payment must be made at least one to two months before the charter starts. All payments are made via bank transfers.
3. Can I charter a yacht for less than a week?
Typically, yacht charters start and end on Saturdays, and the prices on our website are based on a 7-day rental. However, during the off-season (October – April), it is possible to organize a few days long sailing trip, and the price will be calculated based on the number of days spent on board.
During the high season (June, July, August, September, and May), we generally adhere to the weekly charter system (Saturday – Saturday). This is because it is the peak season for charter companies, and most weeks are booked well in advance. Therefore, the prices are usually fixed, and you would be charged for a full week even if you stay for fewer than 7 days.
4. Apart from the yacht charter price, are there any additional costs to consider?
When budgeting for your trip, please consider the following costs:
- Yacht rental price
- Mandatory extras such as food expenses, marina fees, etc. (specified in the offer for each boat)
- Optional extras such as land excursions, transportation arrangements, hotel accommodations (if desired), and crew gratuities
- Transport to the destination and back home (the port of embarkation and disembarkation will be specified in the offer)
5. How to reach the destination and the place of embarkation?
Depending on the country and the port of embarkation, there are several possibilities. Well-connected airports like Split and Dubrovnik offer direct flights from many destinations worldwide. If direct flights are not available, the main airport in Croatia, Zagreb, serves as a hub for connecting flights. Our Customer Service can assist in arranging transportation from the airport to the embarkation point, either by car or van. If you are traveling by car, all marinas have organized and secure parking facilities.
6. What currency should I bring?
The official currency in Croatia is Euro. It is recommended to bring Euros or Dollars and exchange them for local currency at banks, as they usually offer the best exchange rates.
In addition, most places accept payment by credit and debit cards.
7. Does the boat always stay in marinas overnight?
The boat can spend nights either in marinas or at anchor in secluded bays. Since these are private charters, the itinerary and overnight locations can be negotiated with the captain, taking into consideration your preferences, regulations, and weather conditions.
8. What technical equipment is available on the yachts?
When selecting a yacht from our website, please refer to the additional information on the vessel’s equipment provided for each boat in our fleet. All yachts are equipped with safety and navigation equipment, as well as navigation maps. Additional equipment, such as water toys (jet skis, water skis, canoes, paddleboards, water tubes, snorkeling gear, sea bobs, etc.), may be available onboard certain yachts. If you have specific equipment requirements, please contact our Customer Service.
9. Are bed linen, towels, and cutlery provided on the boats?
All our yachts include bed linen (sheets, blankets, pillows), as well as towels. The bed linen is freshly prepared for your arrival and will be changed once or twice during the week, depending on the charter company’s policy.
Some yachts may also offer laundry services, but this should be confirmed in advance when booking a yacht.
10. Which destinations should I visit?
If you are unsure about the places you would like to visit, please refer to our website for suggested routes. We offer five to six different route options, depending on the coastal region you are most interested in exploring. Our Customer Service will be delighted to provide you with additional information, such as the best restaurants, beaches, and nightclubs to visit along the way. We can also suggest and help organize additional excursions, such as a visit to the Blue Grotto or wine tours.
11. Can children be onboard?
Children of all ages are welcome to join you on a sailing trip. While there is no strict age limit, their stay onboard should be closely supervised by adults. All cabins are designed to be safe for children, and additional amenities like baby beds or bed rails can be arranged upon request. Many yachts have safety nets installed around the decks, providing added security for children. By law, children’s life vests are available on every yacht, but baby vests may need to be requested in advance. It is advisable to bring along baby food, as it may not be readily available in all supermarkets along the coast, especially on remote islands.
12. Is it possible for additional guests to join during the sailing trip without sleeping onboard?
Yes, it is possible to make changes to the guest list during the sailing trip. However, it is important to inform the crew in advance, as they are required by law to maintain an updated crew list. Our Customer Service can assist in organizing transportation for additional guests, as the yacht may be in different locations that can be challenging to reach. The captain needs to be informed in advance so that the yacht’s route can be adjusted accordingly, making the changes easy to accommodate.
13. When is the best time to charter a yacht in Croatia?
June, July, and August are considered the high season, while April, May, September, and October are the low seasons.
